Flying Star CafeFun, Funky, and Friendly describes my favorite place to hang out. Flying Star Café in Albuquerque is a great place to have a meal and chat with friends. Or just grab one of their delicious cookies and enjoy their magazine bar. They have tons of great magazines to read at your leisure. Want to surf the web? They have free wi-fi and a computer bar where you can plug in if you need juice for your laptop. With a great menu selection and great service, you are sure to find something you like. I personally like the fish and chips–just make sure to save room for one of their great desserts.

Fying Star Cafe insideThe first location opened in 1987 in Historic Nob Hill and has grown to six locations with a new one scheduled to open later this year. Flying Star Café is a great supporter of the community. One of their recent endeavors was raising money for The Storehouse, which provides food and clothing to individuals in poverty.

Ashley,

The sign for the place looks cool (except I don’t like coffee). Sounds like a neat place to hang out in Albuquerque while you cruise the internet looking for that new home!

Rita, I don’t like coffee either! But a big cold coke and a nice cookie and I am all set.

Ashley – this looks like my kind of ABQ place to hang out!

Cyndee you get out this way and we will make sure to add Flying Star to the tour!

Hi Stephanie,
This looks like a really neat place. Very unique, don’t think I’ve ever heard of a magazine bar, but I like it. It’s so nice to see there is still something out there other than the “formula” places, those all all so much the same, they’ve become dull and boring.

Lynda – Flying Star is such a unique place and I just love the magazine bar. It is nice to find a place that isn’t just like everyone across the country.

I just moved to ABQ and leased an apartment on Academy. The leasing agent of the complex sent us to the “flying star” for lunch and I just loved it….Now I will bring my visiting friends there as well……

JP – I live off of Academy as well! Flying Star is a great restaurant. They are opening one at Wyoming and Paseo Del Norte soon.
