The inconspicuous bronze people lurking around various parts of Albuquerque…
I was downtown a week ago and saw a whole cluster of people. I will be adding them over the next several months. This is George Maloof. He looks like he is watching over the downtown area. Hopefully, he doesn’t mind Sk8er Boi skateboarding on the sidewalk across the street from him! George is located on the corner of Tijeras and 3rd.

Come back next week to see where the next one is spotted! If you have seen any of these people in Albuquerque, leave me a comment to let me know where. I will go grab a photo for a future post.

I love this series – when I get to Albuqerque I will know right where to go to see these beauties. thanks for sharing Ashley
Thesa – I am having a fun time finding them myself. There are way more of them then I had realized at first!
Ashley,
I love these statues – I can see this one shaking his fist at the skater statue across the street. I look forward to seeing more of these statues from around Albuquerque.
Ashley – You have me spotting them around my city too – maybe we should do Bronze People around the US – we have lots of Public Art initatives being mandated with all new construction in Clearwater, Dunedin and Largo is in the works too. – Cyndee

Rita – They have such personality! I have plenty more coming up.
Cyndee – Once you notice them they start showing up everywhere! I would love the see what Florida has.
Susie – I have been startled by these guys before. Even when I know they are there!
Who is George Maloof? Sorry Ashley, but I don’t know him!
Joanne – George Maloof Sr. (seen in the statue) owned a Coors distributorship in Albuquerque. His son George Maloof Jr. is president of Maloof Hotels which operates several Las Vegas NV hotels and is also the owner of the Sacramento Kings and Sacramento Monarchs. Albuquerque also has the George Maloof memorial air park. The air park is a west mesa park for the safe use of remote controlled airplanes and cars.
