Bronze People of Albuquerque: The Series: Cool Friends

by Ashley Drake Gephart

The inconspicuous bronze people lurking around various parts of Albuquerque…

This week’s statue is located outside the fire/police station on Wyoming and Corona. This firefighter is opening up the hydrant and has a surprised look on his face as the two children on the bike ride through it. The kids look like they are having fun though!

Come back next week to see where the next one is spotted! If you have seen any of these people in Albuquerque, leave me a comment to let me know where. I will go grab a photo for a future post.

I love the real life, casual scenes these statues capture. Whoever came up with this idea was brilliant, and kudos to you for introducing the rest of is to this interesting bit of the local Albuquerque scene!

Ashley, what a neat statue! ABQ has some amazing stuff there, I’ll have to come and visit one day.

Karen – I am looking for them everywhere. I have always enjoyed looking at them but now I am seeing details that I never noticed before.

Cameron – I have loved these statues since I saw my first one over 17 years ago in NV. Having art for available for everyone does make a great place.
