Living High in the Desert

Foothills North Albuquerque NMThe High Desert Community, located in the Foothills of Albuquerque, is a diverse mix of housing. This includes single family homes and townhouses. At present, there is new housing in development with “The Legends” located at the corner of Cortaderia and Academy.

This area of Albuquerque contains neighborhood shopping and small businesses, including Albertsons and Hollywood Video. The Cherry Hills Library is about four miles from High Desert. The City’s Park and Ride serves the neighborhood with a location at Montgomery and Tramway.

Recreational opportunities include access to the Sandia Foothills open space which has hiking, mountain biking, and equestrian trails. This provides access to Embudito Trailhead. Dogs are allowed on leash. On-site parking is available. City tennis courts are available at the High Desert Park with two courts. The High Desert Neighborhood has an intricate system of walking trails.

The High Desert Community has many recreational opportunities.Wow, hiking, mountain biking, and equestrian trails and even dog friendly. This High Desert neighborhood has great amenities for all members of a family! Love your pictures of the area!

Karen – It really is different up in High Desert. Of course it is in the foothills of the Sandia Mountains but it looks a lot different than than ones in PA.
