But one criteria that is often overlooked is the air quality. USA Today has released, “The Smokestack Effect,” a comprehensive report on air quality at schools across the nation.
Not surprising that A. Montoya Elementary and Roosevelt Middle schools in Tijeras top the list for lowest air quality in NM. Just behind both schools sits a cement factory which is the leading reason for the low score. If you are concerned about the air at your school, you can search by school or by city.
