Are you doing your part for Albuquerque’s recycling programs? If you don’t have access to curbside pick-up because you’re living in an apartment or outside the city limits, such as North Albuquerque Acres or Sandia Heights, there are twenty drop-off centers located around town.
According to the city’s website, the average resident of Albuquerque throws away nearly five pounds of trash per day! Anything we can do to lower that amount by recycling is a step in the right direction.

By 7am on your regular pick-up day:

This is a new pilot program, starting December 2008. Areas are being phased in and, starting December 29th, you’ll be able to convert your recyclable trash into rewards! Full details of this new program are available on the city’s website.
Jenifer – That was the first thing I noticed as well. I have no idea why out of 20 drop-off points the SW only has 1. The city really does need to provide more for SW residents.

Why is the SW Valley so underserviced? This is just one more example.

Does the City have a recycling progam set-up with APS for the schools? I want to start a program for my school.
