In honor of local author, Tony Hillerman, the Wyoming branch of the Albuquerque Library System has been renamed the “Tony Hillerman Library”. Tony Hillerman passed away this year, but his legacy will continue. Two other libraries have been named after noted residents–Erna Fergusson and Ernie Pyle.
Hillerman’s 18-book mystery series was set in SW Indian Country featuring Joe Leaphorn and Jim Chee with the Navajo Tribal Police.

How cool – I’ve always liked Tony Hillerman. Haven’t read all his books but it’s on my list of things to do.
Karen – I had wanted to attend a writers conference this year that Tony Hillerman was speaking at and was unable to attend. I was pleased to hear that the city is honoring him this way.
