The City of Albuquerque and local retailers need your help in reducing one of the biggest sources of long-term pollution on our planet–plastic shopping bags! Since these plastic bags are oil-based, they are slow to degrade and have harmful effects on the environment and wildlife.
The City of Albuquerque plans to provide free reusable bags to those who make the commitment to reduce their plastic bag usage. Simply take a short pledge on the City’s website. You can then cast your vote for your favorite reusable bag design. The City will tally the votes, produce your favorite, and distribute it to Albuquerque citizens. Business owners can receive free signs to show their customers their commitment to the “Reuse in the Q” program!
